New to Sqlite, and PowerBasic, that's me. I have downloaded Sqlite, and believe its components should be placed in the \Windows\System32\ folder, is that right?
Does anyone have a setup approach already worked out for Sqllite and Windows XP?
And also are there approaches for calling it / using Sqlite in PowerBasic Win 8?
Tell me / point me to as much information as is possible so I can get a good handle on Sqlite setup in Windows XP and its calling approach with PowerBasic Win 8 -- that would really help. Thanks. Paul Newcum.
Personally, I would keep the SQLIte DLL in the same directory as your application.
If you don't want to use the SQLite3 Client/Server that I am developing then you can download Jose's wrappers from his forum: http://www.jose.it-berater.org/smfforum/index.php?topic=1604.0
If you intend to use SQLite in a multiuser environment then you should seriously consider sticking with my client/server solution. If you only intend to access the databases from you application (i.e. locally) then Jose's wrappers will give you a lot of power. There are also code examples available on Jose's site and PowerBasic's forum.
Also, I bought this book: http://www.apress.com/book/view/9781590596739
It explains SQLite in terms that everyone can understand. I would be lost without it. It has just about everything in one reference.
