Hello everyone. I've been developing small applications -with PowerBasic for Windows- that required little or no database access. The app that I'm currently working on, will be very data dependent, that's why I'm considering a Database platform.
I come from a CA-Clipper background, and I'm used to work with those files and indexes, but have no experience with a true Relational Database Management System.
Once you get used to working with SQL then you will quickly realize that it is often easier and more efficient than xbase style programming.
dBase III plus and Clipper Summer 87 used to be my toys!
dBase III Plus is how I got started into programming :-)
You must have started at an early age, Paul!
Hi elpastor, welcome to the forum. Glad to see another PowerBASIC user here.
SQLite / SQLitening was my first real foray into the world of SQL too. I've found it to be really easy and intuitive. I've also been really amazed at the power of SQLite's TRIGGERS and custom functions (somewhat equivalent to "stored procedures" in some other SQL implementations).
