Hi All,

First and foremost, Fred, thank you for the latest release and all your effort.

Now for my puzzle, I
Hi Guys,

I need help one again, my knowledge of SQL is still very limited and I've been fighting this one for a wile  :-[

Assume the following table, tbl_calls:

   call         link       status       user
1752          0          new          mike
1752          1         active        supp
1752          2         active        mike
1752          3          new         supp

1475          0          new          mike

1558          0          new          jeff
1558          1         active        supp
1558          2          new         mike

1299          0          new          tony
1299          1         active        mike
1299          2          new         jeff

-call/link combination is always unique
-status for the first link (0) is always the same as the status for the last (highest) link
-user could be any name

What I need is query that will return the "call" number of every call whose last "link" is "new" but does not equal "supp".

For the above table example the numbers 1558, 1475 and 1299 should be returned.

My efforts always seem to trip over call 1475, the only solution that works for me is to first do a query where link=0 and status=new and user<>supp then in my code finding the last "link" and checking if  status=new and user<>supp. However, I'd like to do it using an SQL query, I think it's possible but so far, no luck.

Thanks for any and all help :)

This has me stumped, the following works:
"SELECT * FROM tbl_callrecord WHERE call_link = 0 ORDER BY call_id"

But the following gives me an error -13 (Invalid column name or number, Statement = GetFieldName):
"SELECT call_id FROM tbl_callrecord WHERE call_link = 0 ORDER BY call_id"

Iam obviously missing the obvious, anybody want to help me overcome another senior moment? Please... :)

Added later: Both the above statements work as expected when run on the database in SQLite Expert  ???

Hi All,

When running in local mode slGetFile locates and loads a file from the local PC... perfect.

When running in remote mode slGetFile locates and loads a file from the server... perfect

Is it possible to run in remote mode and somehow get slGetFile to locate and load a file from a local PC? If not how would I load a local file so I can save it as  a blob, while running in remote mode?

Thanks for any help.

I want to duplicate certain tables (not the copmlete database) from a disk database in a ":memory:" database, wah is the best way to accomplish this?

I do a query on the disk db, do I then ise slGetRow to process each row and then insert into :memory:?

Thanks for any info.

Hi All,

First, thank you Fred, SQLightening is great.
Second, thank you Paul for supporting this effort.

I wrote a PowerBASIC application that uses SQLightening? Works great and has been running flawlessly, locally, on my laptop for months. I now want to make this same SQLite database available to several users over the internet. From what I?ve read on the forum what I want to do is feasible but since I know next to nothing about the internet, I am way out on a limb here and I am starting to hear a cracking sound!

For the sake of this discussion, I have an application named myapp, a SQLite database named mydb, an ?imaginary? server at www.myserver.com and several pc/laptops at remote locations. The following is how I understand the system works:

The SQLighteningServer.exe, SQLite3.dll, SQLightening.dll and mydb run on the myserver at www.myserver.com
Each pc that needs access to mybd will run a copy of myapp and SQLightening.dll
Myapp uses slConnect to connect to myserver.
Once connect all SQLightening commands function as if working in local mode.
The SQLighteningServer exe handles the details/communications between the database and all the remote pc

Am I on the right track or should I be looking for a soft place to land :)

All feedback appreciated and please, assume I don?t know.

All the best,
